Who's eligible?
Any organization furthering civic education or action — student groups, mutual aid, tenant unions, local news, debate leagues, advocacy orgs — regardless of political affiliation. Nonprofit status is not required.
How does verification work?
After signup we email you within 48 hours. You have 30 days to show us your work — a website, Instagram, blog, press mention, anything public. We never collect personal information. Unverified accounts pause after 30 days (nothing is deleted).
Why is it free? What's the catch?
No catch. Our mission is youth involvement in democratic systems, and email is the first infrastructure every organization needs. There are no ads and your data is never sold — the service is movement-funded.
Are there storage limits?
Each organization gets a shared quota sized for organizing work — quotas exist so resources are allocated equitably. If you ever run low, email us and we'll raise it free of charge.
How do we get the Partner plan?
Write to support@movementmail.org with a line about your organization. It's still free — the extra step just helps us plan capacity for 100-user orgs.
What's the Unlimited tier and what does it cost?
Unlimited domains and unlimited email users for large organizations. Pricing is decided together, case by case — never more than what it costs us to run, and subsidized whenever we're able. Email support@movementmail.org and we'll figure it out.
I forgot my password — how do I reset it?
On webmail (mail.movementmail.org) use Forgot password? and enter the recovery email you saved under Settings → Security — not your Movement Mail address. The reset updates webmail, IMAP/SMTP, and the admin portal together. From the admin login you can follow Forgot password? to the same flow.
Can we leave?
Anytime. The domain is yours, and your mail exports over IMAP. No lock-in is the point of custom domains.
What's not allowed?
Spam, bulk commercial mail, harassment, and anything that endangers deliverability for every other org on the service. Full details in the acceptable use policy.
